Listen to Louisiana Blues

McKinley Morganfield
Born 14th. April 1915 - Rolling Fork, Mississippi
Died 30th. April 1983 - Chicago, Illinois

The top Chicago bluesman and this is one of his versions of the forty-fours, a tune that is used by nearly all blues artists. PAUL OLIVER, the top blues author (and British!) wrote a chapter on this tune in "Screening the Blues" (Cassell, 1968). Probably not available now but anything you can find written by Paul Oliver is worth reading.

Some covers of Muddy's tracks:
Hoochie Coochie Man - Manfred Mann
Louisiana Blues - Alexis Korner
Got my mojo working _ Alexis Korner
Got my mojo working - Cliff Bennett & the Rebel Rousers
Got my mojo working - Manfred Mann
Got my mojo working - Mark Leeman Five
Rollin' & Tumblin' - Canned Heat
