McKinley Morganfield The top Chicago bluesman and this is one of his versions of the forty-fours, a tune that is used by nearly all blues artists. PAUL OLIVER, the top blues author (and British!) wrote a chapter on this tune in "Screening the Blues" (Cassell, 1968). Probably not available now but anything you can find written by Paul Oliver is worth reading. Some covers of Muddy's tracks:
