could be forgiven for thinking that it was a Palace which was turned
into a commercial building but it was, in fact, built as the headquarters
of the Bank of Latvia in the early 20th. Century. Needless to say the
Bank itself has had a tempestous history. Independant, under Soviet
rule and under German occupation. It's now independant again and the
building remains!
