2012 Danube River CruiseWent on today's tour. An hour's drive to the first stop (one of the main things advertised for river cruises is that you stop in the City / Town and don't have to travel - NOT!). Unfortunately the coach trip was spoiled by a couple of mouthy Americans (there were quite a few of those on the boat) who talked continually while the guide was giving her chat. Belogradchik was a pleasant enough stop with a fortress and attractive rocks.
After lunch we took a walk into Vidin. Saw some rather nice statues etc. although we don't know what they are about
and came across a group of dancers in national dress (we think it was some sort of photo shoot). It was very hot and we wilted a bit but worth a walk. |
