2012 Danube River Cruise

Went on today's tour. An hour's drive to the first stop (one of the main things advertised for river cruises is that you stop in the City / Town and don't have to travel - NOT!). Unfortunately the coach trip was spoiled by a couple of mouthy Americans (there were quite a few of those on the boat) who talked continually while the guide was giving her chat. Belogradchik was a pleasant enough stop with a fortress and attractive rocks.

After lunch we took a walk into Vidin. Saw some rather nice statues etc. although we don't know what they are about

The bottom two are St. Dimitrius Cathedral and monument to the Victims of Communism

and came across a group of dancers in national dress (we think it was some sort of photo shoot).

It was very hot and we wilted a bit but worth a walk.
