When I first got into the blues (in the '60s) I found that an Englishman was among the most respected of blues writers. This was him! The first Blues book I ever bought (in 1968) was There was an LP to accompany it and this introduced me to several new artists (and some very blue blues!). I was hooked!
Next year The Story of the Blues came out I bought it (and the double LP that accompanied it). Needless to say it was considered the best history of the blues ever written.

I went on to buy several books by Paul and was never disappointed.

I'm still buying in 2023!
